I was so excited when Jess called and asked if we could help with her 30th birthday, since she was so much fun when we styled her son’s 2nd birthday balloon bash! She wasn’t decided on a theme this time around, but knew that she wanted to an excuse for everyone to get dressed up and sip on some delicious cocktails!
We went for an elegant cocktail party with black and white stripes, but to make it extra bold and colorful, we decorated with an obscene amount of 100s & 1000s and lots of polka dot bunting, courtesy of crave home in Birkenhead. The table was decorated with a black & white table runner with colorful flowers and elegant black taper candles displayed in glass vases brimming with 100s & 1000s. The pièce de résistance was an extra large black and white striped circle and confetti covered 30 that took pride of place on the party table. For an extra punch of color, we had more black candles in gorgeous multi-colored candlesticks from crave.
Jess served her cocktails in our beautiful glass drink dispensers and guests drank out of quilted mason jar cocktail glasses, complete with black and white paper straws with polka-dot, washi tape flags. Her hubby made his famous gluten free pizzas which were served on 3-tiered serving platters along with cheerios and sausage rolls for a touch of fun! For the main course, we had a pasta bar, serving up the deliciousness in black and white noodle boxes. Everyone raved about the food and loved the fun way in which it was served. (Jess especially loved it as it meant no dishes!) For dessert, she had a delicious gluten free chocolate mousse cake and oreos rolled in sprinkles.
I had so much fun designing and styling this party and getting to mix traditional black & white elegance with colorful cocktails and 100s & 1ooos. How can you not love a party inspired by sprinkles?!
