Purple has always been a popular colour for weddings, but can sometimes look a bit cliche. By pairing fresh lavender and soft foliage in unexpected places, you capture the classic elegance of lavender and your wedding photos are sure to stand the test of time! Plus, we absolutely love this champagne cocktail – champagne, a splash of St. Germaine and a sprig of fresh lavender – it doesn’t get anymore refreshing on a hot summer’s day!
Yesterday some of New Zealand’s top wedding dress designers unveiled their latest collections at New Zealand Fashion Week. We were lucky enough to not only be at the show, but to be backstage styling part of Alma Wong’s collection. Check out the first glimpse of the show over at New Zealand Wedding Magazine, and keep your eye out for our gorgeous dip-dyed tassels, extra-large balloons and sparkling photo booth props! We can’t wait to share more images with you and give you all the back stage goss.
I woke up with shoes on the brain this morning…surely, I can’t be the only one?! I perused a few New Zealand sites and was throughly disappointed with the selection–there were lots of fun and funky shoes, but nothing fit for a wedding or a nice night out. Sad that it would be a morning of only window shopping, since none of my favourite US stores ship to NZ, I reluctantly head over to my favourite shoe paradise, Nordstrom’s. Guess what I was greeted with?!?! A pop up. A pop up, saying Nordies now ships to New Zealand! What a way to start the morning.
With wedding season quickly approaching, and wedding shoes in NZ hard to find, I couldn’t resist myself and put together a little mash up of some of the greats…
I’m a bit giddy that Nordstrom’s is now shipping to New Zealand. It is a one stop shop for everything you need to stay on trend, not only for your wedding, but for fashion, home and beauty. I can’t wait for my first package!

For 2014, it seems geometrics are the new black. They’re everywhere. And rightly so…they are so much fun! What a better way to explore your inner 80s child than with a little geometric influence for your next party. With some inspiration from above, just pick a hot color scheme and voilà–instant party! Whether it’s a 30th or a 3rd, with the fun shapes, and colors limited only by your imagination, they sky is the limit with this one!
Monograms. They’re as Southern as chicken-n-waffles or biscuits-n-gravy (both of which we’ll discuss in depth at another time). In the South, we monogram everything…and I mean everything. Stationary. Hand towels. Burp cloths. Napkins. Shirts. Undies. Glasses. Belts. Cushions. If there is space on it, we’ll monogram it.
Black & white go together like tea & biscuits! This classic combination, when done right, glows with elegance and class. When done wrong, can look like the aftermath of a hurricane at a $2 shop. The above combinations works so well because they take the simple color palette and pair it with bold, traditional patterns. The table setting gives it a modern edge, by replacing the expected white candle tapers with black ones. The bouquet also achieves a fresh look, by replacing a standard bow with a more structured one.
